Shou sugi ban is traditional Japanese wood-burning technique that involves charring wood to preserve it without the use of chemicals or paint. The process makes wood more resistant to fire, rot, and pests—and it creates a natural water repellent barrier/ sun shield. At Easter Roofing & Construction we use this process for our decks!
